Starting Saturday I will be posting daily updates on what's been happening in the server work. They won't always be exciting or thrilling, but it's a way to keep you guys in the know. However few of you there might be.

Saturday March 8th. Today I spent a lot of time working on organizing the server. Figuring out what's been done so far, what needs doing. I now have a binder full of charts and lore and am ready to get back at it in full swing.
There are a lot of areas that have been built but need decorating, a lot of areas still to be built, and more lore to fill out.

Sunday the 8th of March Siranda is getting a full overhaul. Plot, look, name. It will still remain SoS but it will no longer be Shadows. The time of Shadows is over and the time of Survival is upon us. I'm going to switch the focus of the server slightly away from the massively overpowered feel that it had to a more survival based game. Things that are in discussion: Resting requires certain basics. Safety, a bed type place. With other features such as a fire near by your rest will be more beneficial to you. Fire. You will need to gather wood and flint/matches to light a fire. Fires are good for resting, recovery time, cooking food. Food. Food found may well be spoiled, there will be ways to purify it, though you can eat the spoiled foods (you might get sick from it) the better the food is (cooked, unspoiled) the more you get from it. Water. We all need to drink. other things in the works. More Dungeons. There will be the vaults, they will be base level things. The dungeons will be more specific and tiered up in three levels (low, medium, high) the vaults can always be run. The Dungeons will be on timers. Shorter time for the low levels with progressively longer times going up. This means that dungeons can be run multiple times without the server resetting. Dungeon Fatigue. The idea that once you run a dungeon there is a "cool down" time on you before you can run another. This prevents somebody logging in the freshly reset server and running all dungeons one after another. The plot itself is shifting slightly. I never had the full background of SoS when I got it. I couldn't find a cohesive one. I've decided to take the server back in time. When the server goes live the story will be starting about a month after the island of Siranda went "quiet." A month after the last city fell. There are a few survivors around, small bands of people gathered together, loners trying to scratch out a living for themselves. There will be full write ups for the areas of the island so that people can know a little bit about where they want to come from, or why they have come to the island. Not all these ideas are set in stone yet. Ideas or input is always welcome on the threads for it. Just please don't flood this thread with them if you have ideas.

Today on SoS.
I laid out the under realm. I got the base areas built for all the tunnels, Gelzburg exterior, Aeotvigar exterior, and the Ludor caves. Doesn't sound like a lot but it's a fair bit to make everything connect properly and fit the map so there aren't glaring issues that will drive me bonkers.

Also sorry about yesterday's update guys. I ended up not working on the server. Shit hit the fan here, well, it was actually cat pee hitting my bed, but still, just didn't end up at the computer since my room stank of cleaning supplies. I'm just settling down now with a cup of tea to do today's work.

Hey Everyone! been a while since I have been on. Been so long i forgot my full username for a bit so whatevs glad to see that SoS is coming back to life. Ever since the server list went down only a few handful of players clung onto the wreckage, the biggest server i play on has a max of 20 players so basically, i'm SUPER EXICTED SoS is getting back up. i miss the fun and uniqueness of SoS Good luck getting it back up!

Got some great discussion in today on what we want to do script wise and some over all ideas for things on the server.
A few teasers of what's to come: A way to bring back a Lost Soul. Scripted Subraces. No more Gold Token levels...but there will be other Perks to having good RP tokens. A more in depth hunger script. Temperature. Something beyond max level?

Today I implemented a picking pockets limitation. Items weighing over 5lbs will now be tagged as NOT PICKPOCKETABLE in their descriptions and flagged as Unpickpocketable
EDIT also a more concise explanation of planned features
Characters who have been permakilled or turned into a zombie will have a costly ritual for players to bring them back
Subraces will be tiered and restricted to roleplay tokens and other factors. Some subraces will be freely accessable while others will be application-only or gold token restricted. All subraces will be fully scripted. A side-note, please feel free to PM me with subrace requests, even if they seem obvious. I will use your requests as votes to decide what order to do them in
The maximum level will no longer be exclusive to gold token holders, however there will be other perks for gold token holders.
Players will be required to actively eat their food, rather than automaticly and the penalties for starvation will be harder, food will be scarce.
Plans for a scripted perk tree are being drawn up that will exist seperate to the existing character sheet

Quick question about gold tokens.
Will this automatically be given to players who already had them, or will you have to rework for that gold token?

Since we're not 100% sure how the gold tokens are going to work yet I'm not sure yet how they'll be dealt with in the return.

Nothing was done on my end yesterday since I was out all day long while my kittens had surgery. Yay for no more "in heat" moments!
Today I got some more building of interiors done and sent out areas to those who have volunteered to help decorate.
