Those visiting the island sanctuary would be able to smell undeath and charred remains comming from the direction of the Lathanderite shrine.
Upon approaching it, they would find flesh and blood washing out into the ocean, bones getting caught in the dirt...
Closer inspection reveals that a good few weak skeletons are roaming around the temple, some of them flailing their arms wildly, a pile of bones sits by the fountain, likely from skeletons who got too close to the statue.
The water in the statue would be cursed, and the area within 100 feet of the fountain seems to irradiate with negative energy (Clerics would be able to tell it's from the "desecrate battlefield" spell.)
For the next 9 days ((IG)) the desecrate spell would remain in effect, doubling the strength of animate dead spells and keeping the shrine from spreading its influence past the statue. The grass around the shrine would be a dull brown, not necesarily dead, but twisted by the spell...
The water will remain cursed until either blessed again or dumped out most likely. ((Up to DM discretion if the statue's presence would be able to purify it or not when the desecration spell wears off))
Those who inspect the statue would find an arrow piercing through its heart...
No hallmarks would be left to indicate whom might have committed this atrocity.
//I'd assume that the cursed water would limit the Lathander shrine's effects on the island for some time, hence I'm hoping the DMs consider the cursed water effect to be a little longer than temporary.
Estimated the cost at 2k gp rounding up, will drop it in the bin the next time I'm on.\\
