Description:
This wickedly edged blade, huge and bulky though it was, gleamed gently whenever a light was cast upon its wicked edge. Through the blade, no tremors of magic were visible, no amazing bouts of arcane energy soared up and down the edges of this viciously sharp sword, the only hint of something that wasn't smithed ore was the gemstone, embedded beautifully in the hilt of the cold, metallic weapon.
The weight, coupled with the vicious stabbing tip and the ungodly razor-sharp edges, gave the blade a distinctively agonizing attack. It could pass effortlessly through the sharpest of armors and the largest of shields due to the heavy weight and vicious tip.
The fact that the blade came to a point instead of the edges gradually tapering off meant that it was a perfectly viable to run someone through with, pierce a particularly thick bit of armor, anything of the sort that needed to be done with a sharpened tip.
Within the hilt of the blade, a small gemstone resided, that, when pressed into the blade, would activate a trigger that allowed the blade to coat both itself and the wearer in a thick shroud of shadows, shielding them from necromancy and negative energy. Once impressed, this property needs to be given time to recharge.
The lethality of the blade could not be called into question, despite its apparent lack of magical enchantment, as the edge, when coupled with the woman's own vicious strength when wielding it, made for a fearsome weapon indeed, and its weight made it a fair amount harder to disarm.
How it came to be:
Adelle came into contact with the blade through no fault of her own, walking through Siranda with Horrigan's Greatsword being lugged behind her like the burdensome greatsword that it was. Light as it may be (Relatively speaking, for a sword as tall as her, one would suppose), she still didn't like the stupid thing too much. It wasn't quite enchanted enough, contacting someone's flesh with the blade multiple times wasn't the death sentence that she felt (in her typical, egotistical sense) that it should have been.
So began the search, and whenever she found the telepathic link empty and herself restlessly awake, she would begin the search anew, the conquest for a new shiny stabby toy. At one point, she'd discovered the blade, laying beside a skeletal figure in a lonely corner of the abandoned under-realm's not so secret secret base. Hefting it nearly pulled out all the bones in both her arms, grunting as she struggled to lift the sword for a few moments before she put her back into it and lugged the giant blade on to her shoulder, where it sat with a grunt. "Quite th'piece of work, this sword.. Wonder what happened to its sad bastard of an owner, as in the state of rigor-mortis he's in, he's a goner."
She sighed a little bit as she gave him a quick once-over, as so many survivors probably had in the past. It was a wonder to her how this peculiar sword found its way into her massively armored grasp, though as she swung it experimentally it soon became oh-so apparent. Even to Siranda's resident heavy weapons expert, this thing was going to take some accustoming to swing in full armor.
Before leaving, she slowly began pawing at the greatsword, exploring the hilt and trying to determine what enchantments had been placed upon the blade, aside from the fact that it looked sharp enough to cut its way through anything stupid enough to stand in its way. Discovering the nature of the blade, she had accidentally impressed the small gemstone in the hilt, engulfing her in shadows. She cries out before blinking, looking over her now shadowy hands.
"I suppose a new sword of some variety has been long, long overdue. This particular one shall do just fine.. As soon as I get used to the godsdamned weight.." She grunts, slamming open the doors to the abandoned complex and proceeding on her way out to continue her butchery of everything not her that had the misfortune to be down here to hone her skills with her new toy.
