William sat in the temple against one of the cushions. He was indifferent about the Sharessians, but the temple let off a rather calming effect on him- perfect for meditation. He thought of what the Banite and Dragoness had said.
"An eye for an eye, a soul for a soul" he muttered under his breath, unable to concentrate. "It may be a lie... Never stated a price but that they'd ask... But what if it's true?"
He shuddered at the thought, resting his head on the cushion and staring at the ceiling. "I could never give up my own soul... I might be a bit selfish, but I would never let myself be used like that..." He sighed, looking towards the fountain, watching the droplets of water land and rest on the edges of its stone basin.
"The other question is how one comes to posses a soul if they aren't a deity or demon... Either of which would be foolish to attack." He shifted uncomfortably for a few minutes before laying on his side facing the doorway.
"If such is the case... I could likely find someone else to act as a conduit, or prize for the deal... But the idea of bargaining with another person like that... It's abhorrent..." He sighed, slowly sitting upright and begining to meditate again. "Not to mention that my doubts are begining to spread..."
"I'll keep my wits about me for now... See what the price is... People change, people change..." He began to repeat, his mind a torrent of chaos, unsure of what would happen. "I wouldn't want to make a mistake like this so soon to simply be toppled over... Maybe I'll confront them about it." His mind began to calm as he faded into his meditation routine.
