Character Name : William N'witghen
Item : Lesser Magical Electrifier (Medium misc. object would be the most realistic I beleive)
Item Bonuses : Electrifier properties (charge/destroy) 1 use/day, only useable by Wizards/Sorcerers
Caster of Enchantments : William N'witghen
Feedback Desired : (yes)
William paced through the castle's library-he had found a rather interesting book in the previous months regarding an item referred to as the "magical electrifier.'
The item itself was rather powerful, the wizard who had created the original having likely designed the finished product with efficiency in mind. It was a special flask that held a miniature destruction orb that had been converted into a storage unit. Such an item was simple enough to create, but required a lot of time and effort. After weeks of research, Will beleived he had found a work-around. Instead of applying powerful enchantments to maintain a contained destruction orb, he had worked out a way to make an "economy" version of the item. It would only be able to break down a single item before needing some time to recharge, but it would still serve the same function once the energy was stored.
William focused himself, heading downstairs with the book in hand, his own schematics in the other as he made his way to the alchemy labs, blasting apart undead in his way. Upon entering the labs, he placed the notes on a table, getting to work.
Using a series of flaming hands and firebrand spells, he turned a set of test tubes into a larger glass tube to act as the base of the item. Quickly while it was still moldable, the wizard began to encase it with gemstones to act as nodes to hold the energy within it. The next process was to create a wire capable of withstanding the surge of magical energy, and the only material he knew of which would do such was gold... He began to use the same process he used for scrying to instead create a gold wire attached to the glass tube. As the wires approached an appropriate length, the mage attached clamps to them to act as the focus point for the item to draw in magical power.
It was time to begin the enchantment process...
William began to use his knowledge of the weave to its fullest. The first task of creating the storage source was rather simple as he countered the effects of a dispel magic attack to instead absorb it back into the origin. Without much time to waste, he immediatly cast a lightning bolt spell on it begining the process that would make it capable of sapping energy through the wires instead of just absorbing it through the base.
The electrifier would be more fragile, and less powerful than its traditional counterpart, but it would be economically effective for the mage if he suceeded in its creation. with the majority of the process completed, he reached into the weave, begining to set off a series of advanced enchantments to finish its creation...
//EDIT:\\
The Wizard's creation was almost complete before he realized key flaws in its design. The glass containment began to superheat from the required energies before bursting out.
Luckily William managed to cover himself with his cloak from the enclosing blast due to recognizing its effects.
He sighed, brushing the glass shards off of his cloak. It seemed the experiment wouldn't work, the design of the original having been in part to maintain it. To create the proper enchantment would require more power than he could manage to contain and he feared attempting such an advanced item.
"I'll have to list this experiment as a failure... Ohh well," he said with a shrug, he knew his labs could only help him so much in the synthesizing of items.
