I've noticed a trait lately of people handing out Gelzburg boss gear to level one players. It's getting a little bit annoying. I'm going to reinstate an old SoS rule, slightly modified.
Gelzburg gear is not to be given out to anyone under level 6 (Ascended characters are the exception to this) unless they actually went through the dungeon themselves (please send me a PM with a screenshot as proof of this.)

This could easily be accomplished, some level 1 hiding away in greater sanctuary behind some level 12's doing all the work.

As someone from the original generation, I actually think this is a good idea. I had to work to better levels to have the ability to wear different tier gear (Vault->Spire->Gelz) and handouts weren't as common. While I think it's great that players want to help each other and make newer players less squishy, it does often slop into bad situations, and just doesn't make sense. Instead, players can just help with appropriate level gear and assisting their peers through vaults, Spire runs, the Underrealm, and eventually Gelzburg. For the experienced player of NWN, it's not hard to get up to a good level over the course of a few days (assuming you're not on 24/7 and this is a steady pace, else it'd be quicker).
I don't doubt there's going to be a volley of run-arounds, but carefully monitoring this should be alright.

I also doubt that Gelzburg handouts are all that common anymore, since Gelzburg gear is something of a rare commodity now that Gelzburg is a lot harder.

Would have to agree with Dr. Thor here having played the original SoS for a time. It sometimes led to bad blood when a high-level player abused the Gelzburg rule in old SoS, but, at least from the specific gear I've seen, if Spire/Luca remain accesible to the low-levels without the cap, than there really shouldn't be complaining since being decked out in Spire/Luca gear makes for some impressive players in their own rights.
Problem with that Everfaith is the only people with Gsanc are gold RP clerics and those with 6th level spell slots for the cleric since said spell is only useable on the caster. Invis on the other hand is accessible by anyone with the trickery domain or who's arcane-based somehow. Since most of the enemies don't have see invis/TS (other than the minimoth, I don't know of any others) it should be possible to sneak by with the group still.
My real question is two-fold.
1. How does this affect players who currently hold said Gelz gear. Will they be allowed to keep it, or would it need to be removed from the inventory?
2. Does this function like the old spire gear rule, or is it just no having in general? The old spire gear rule stated that a player was allowed to own said gear, it would just magically burn them severely and the likes if they equipped it before they were the appropriate level to use it.

i also must agree with the geltz rule, i am a long time player and was having to deal with the level difference and belin was level 10 before he had a single ounce of geltz gear before. and as already said, there shouldn't be any complaining if spire and luca gear is still available to lower level chars so they can at least stand toe to toe with some regular zombies without fear of dying in the first attack.

I'm going to give two options to those under level 6 who have the Gelz gear.
1) Have the gear in inventory but don't use it. (If you are caught using it it will be removed without the chance for option 2)
2) Exchange the Gelz gear for Luca gear of appropriate type.
