The monastery was cold in the mountains, but Ig had become used to the temperatures long before, his green-tan body covered in sweat as he went about his daily training. His goal, the perfection of mind and body, and the finding of inner peace.
Born from one of the orc raids in a village on the mainlands, Ig was the son of sin. He was a runt compared to his fellow orcish "siblings" but he was tough nonetheless. He had gained his mother's wisdom, and father's strength, but was unfortunately cursed with his father's bad leadership skills and the mind of an orc. Through his years of training and raids under his orcish bretheren, he learned that the word "adventurer" was typically associated with one of two things depending on said adventurer's gender, and sometimes not even that mattered. Ig continued his chaotic tendencies as a child for years until his first true raid...
The carnage was too much. He decided that he couldn't keep living his life like so,and ventured off. He knew that he wouldn't be accepted in any regular village, so he made his way into the mountains, hoping to find a goliath clan, or perhaps some sort of civlization in its wake. Weeks passed, and the young fellow found himself in the comforts of a Saint Cuthbert monastery after he had passed out from hunger and exhaustion in the snow...
The monks didn't detain him, in fact they encouraged him to leave when he got better-not out of hostility, but so that he might continue his journey. Ig though, was impressed with the monks. In his short time there he had witnessed styles of fighting far beyond brutish orc melee, and the fact that they could incapacitate a foe -or- kill them with their fists simply encouraged him more. He soon made the monastery his home, working and training with the monks. His mind was slow of speech and knowledge, but was sharp and quick as a cat when it came to common sense and predicting his oponents moves. His mind grew sharper though with the help of the monks, he learned common, learned to read and write, and soon found himself leaning more and more towards a lawful discipline.
Many a year passed, and Ig decided that he needed to venture off to further his training in solitude... He knew the perfect place. Rumors had been spreading about an island that had been beleived to be uninhabited as the local ports had lost contact with them years ago. He boarded a ship heading for the island of Siranda. When they reached the heavy fog dotting the island though, Ig knew better than to lead the crew to their deaths. The captain was more than willing to turn back, but provided the half-orc with a rowboat to get him out of his way.
For hours, Ig rowed through the fog and towards the distant island-and his intuition paid off. Sharp rocks edged out of the cliffsides, and the undead seemed to roam the lands. If he had taken the whole crew along, surely they would have all perished...

Vow of Abstinence-Ig vowed that he would keep his body pure of the impurities of alcohol, drugs, and sexual practices.
Vow of Dedication-Ig vowed to be dedicated to his search for inner peace and the connection between mind and body, but even moreso, Ig vowed to remove the disguise of any devil or demon he found within the material plane.
//deciding to try out a known concept, but one not usually employed in an RP setting. A half-orc from an orcish heritage becoming a monk after an inner turmoil. A pacifistic monk at that!\\
