I think it's time to stop dragging the dead horse. We've answered the points you've been making over and over, XKCD. Repeatedly making the same point isn't going to change it. The matter has been addressed. We've admitted that it wasn't worded exactly right, do we need to keep going on about it? No, we don't.
As for the poll and using the majority of people signed up on the forums. Well, that may never happen. Not everyone who signs up is active. I can't drag them on and make them do polls. I will use the numbers gleaned from the active people. If somebody is inactive or chooses to not vote, well, that's not something I can control. I can only go by people who care about having an input.

If it is decided a relelvel is neccessary upon the return of the server... *Shrugs* Well, i'll be sorely disapointed, but it won't stop me playing.
Personally I don't see the point of archiving characters... Either we can play them or we can't. If you want a 'Trial period' then that's something I could agree with, but the poll doesen't quite make it clear that that's your intention.
As for items... Meh. Have fun making a new vault system, but will previously earnt ascension items be 1) Kept in the archive and unusable 2) Given into the hands of players with 3-14hp which can be one hitted by a lucky critical, thereby wasting hours of hard work and likely resulting in a huge amount of 'Ascension item thefts' 3) Got rid of entirely 4) Given to high leveled characters, resulting in the nice unballancing issue again.
Personally, if players were allowed to keep their levels, loosing items doesen't seem like the hugest of blows to me. So if you're going to leave levels alone, I woulden't mind having to re-find items. Though it has been mentioned that RP should be considered here... Atiya has carried around a longsword of orcus with the name 'Maria' carved into the blade since she was a level 2, and i'm sure other players have equally important 'Keepsakes'. Does every player on the server have to RP miraculous loss of such items?
Anyway, Just wanted to throw in my oppinion and make it clear I was still around. Good luck with the module! And sorry to hear you stepped down, XKCD.

As we've said. We didn't address every issue in the initial poll mostly to judge the initial reaction to full wipe. Going by what people respond with is where we move on to the other options available and address all the details.
The reason we have the poll being so long was to get as many people as possible to weigh in, the odd one who only checks once a month etc.
Ascension items by the time the server went down had been decreed unstealable without player consent (to prevent some of the issues we had before. Some people are okay with them being stolen, others not so much)
The entire server is changing a fair bit. From items and vaults to mobs and core areas to badges. I'm happy to do some discussion on actual changes in another post.

As I said before, even after this poll is concluded, it will not be the end of the matter. If the majority vote is 'yes' then I will creating a subsequent poll to allow everyone to give their opinions on how exactly we 'wipe' the characters.
In answer to the questions about archiving - Yes, we are not deleting the characters because a Trial Period is intended.
More to follow when the specifics are deliberated by myself and Avvy

And just to reiterate; You wont lose ascension items, the characters will not be deleted Just to clarify, what will happen to Characters that took ascension feats? (Thanks Colpoj, I had no choice but to step down due to time management with my degree) |

In response to your concerns, we have a complete record of every single ascension served and if we were to wipe the vault we would allow the player to purchase an ascension of equal value on their new character or retain the feat if they simply remade the old character. It would all depend on whether we decided to allow new characters to be carried back to the old vault in the event that we decided to revert the vault wipe. |
